How long will my Giclée print last

Archival Fine Art Printing
At Print Art, we use only the highest-quality materials to ensure your prints stand the test of time. Our professional-grade pigment inks and archival-standard papers are sourced from leading manufacturers, providing exceptional colour accuracy and longevity.
With proper care, your fine art print can last:
✔ 200 years in a photo album
✔ 80 years on display behind glass (protected from light exposure)
✔ 50 years on display without glass (exposed to air pollutants)
Just like original artworks, all pigments—whether in paintings, fine art prints, or textiles—will fade faster when exposed to direct UV light, such as sunlight.
Our archival pigment inks offer superior colour vibrancy and durability. Unlike dye-based inks, pigment inks bind with the paper fibres, making them more resistant to fading, UV damage, and scratches. This ensures your prints remain as rich and vibrant as the day they were made.
Caring for Your Prints
Our prints are not varnished or sprayed, so while they are smudge and water-resistant, they should be handled like an original watercolour or pastel.
If you’d like to enhance the durability of your prints, UV-protective sprays or varnishes can be applied. Be sure to choose a compatible product, follow the instructions carefully, and always do a test patch first.
For best results, we recommend framing your prints under glass and displaying them away from direct sunlight to preserve their beauty for years to come.
